Concept Development. Design and Build
Infrequency is a physical podcast player – Open the web app, select the audio category, put your phone away, and nudge Infrequency to play and skip tracks.
It is part of a project that explores new and playful media experiences with connected objects that focus on the interactions with the physical object. It asks if storytelling is embedded in objects, then what opportunities exist for media publishers and users beyond the confines of the screen.
Connected objects offer unique affordances to convey both meaningful editorial, and user experiences that haven’t existed before. Objects also afford greater potential for beauty than anything screen based. Infrequency had to be an elegant, simple object when static, and in movement.
